General Conference Information

Program Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants will acquire an updated understanding of current diagnoses, interventions, treatment options and management of specific ailments of patients of all ages. All lectures listed are provided based on the results of needs assessment and at the request of MOA members.

Continuing Medical Education Credit
The Maine Osteopathic Association is accredited to provide osteopathic continuing medical education credits. This program anticipates being approved for 22 AOA Category 1-A CME credits pending final approval by the AOA CCME. Three (3) additional AOA Category 1-A CME credits will be available through the exhibitor sheet. The MOA will report physicians’ credit hours to the American Osteopathic Association.

Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians and determination is pending. Credit earned from the AAFP may be claimed by the physician as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit.

Industry Sponsored Symposia
Portions of the official MOA program may be considered “Industry Sponsored Symposia.” The MOA is required to fully disclose this on all materials. All MOA program information and marketing materials fully disclose those CME functions that are considered “Industry Sponsored Symposia” and do not offer CME credit.

Vendor support of this educational activity does not imply approval or endorsement of any products by the accrediting organization or the MOA. Presentations may be considered “Industry Supported Symposia” and may not offer CME Credits.

Faculty Disclosure
All faculty members participating in the program are expected to disclose any significant financial interest and/or other relationship with the manufacturers and providers of commercial products and/or services discussed in their presentation and their relationship or financial interest in any commercial contributor to the Conference. Program Compliance
As required by the American Osteopathic Association, this CME program has been planned and is conducted under the AOA “Uniform Guidelines” for such programs. Unresolved issues regarding compliance with the AOA “Uniform Guidelines” may be brought to the attention of the AOA by calling 1-800-621-1773 ext. 5836 or by writing to the Division of CME, AOA, 142 East Ontario Street, Chicago, IL 60611-2864.

MOA Conference Grievance Policy
All grievances should be in writing and specify the nature of the grievance and any “particulars”. Initially, all grievances should be directed to the MOA Program Committee. If you do not receive a satisfactory response, you may notify the Council on Continuing Medical Education, AOA, 142 East Ontario St., Chicago, IL 60611

Advance Registration
In order to register for the conference, complete the registration form (PDF)and return it to the MOA office, 693 Western Ave., #1, Manchester, ME 04351 with the proper registration fee. You may also register on-line, or you may fax your registration form if paying by credit card to 207-623-4228. Register prior to April 30, 2008, for the early registration discount. Breakfasts and luncheons, as well as the Friday and Saturday evening receptions are included with your paid registration. If you are planning to attend any of these events please mark the appropriate areas on your registration form. If you preregister for the Convention, a registration packet will be at the MOA registration desk when you check in.

Cancellations
The MOA must be notified of any cancellations in writing by June 1, 2008 in order to provide a refund. A $50 processing fee will be assessed on all refunds prior to June 1, 2008. Cancellations received after June 1, 2008 will not be refunded.

Hotel Accommodations
The Maine Osteopathic Association has a block of rooms reserved at the Samoset Resort at a preferred rate. Room reservations under the MOA preferred rate block may be made by calling 1-800-341-1650. Current room rates are $190 per night for standard room and $339 for a standard suite. In order to qualify for the preferred rate, reservations must be made by May 6, 2008. When making your reservation identify yourself with the Maine Osteopathic Association Annual Oceanside Convention. Check in time is 3:00 p.m. and checkout time is 12:00 noon. The Maine Osteopathic Association is not responsible for making participant or exhibitor overnight accommodations or payment for room reservations.
