About

The Maine Osteopathic Association was created in 1912 to promote and preserve the practice of osteopathic medicine in Maine. We are Maine’s only association dedicated to representing D.O.s!

  • The Maine Osteopathic Association (MOA) is a divisional society of the American Osteopathic Association.

  • Our Mission: To serve the osteopathic profession in the state of Maine through a coordinated effort of professional education, professional advocacy, and member services in order to ensure the quality of osteopathic care to the people of this state.

  • The MOA has over 300 physician members, plus supports osteopathic residents, interns and medical students training in Maine.

Strategic Plan Priorities:

  1. Membership: To increase and retain members to strengthen our association.

  2. Education: To deliver continuing medical education that is relevant, accessible and appealing.

  3. Advocacy: To serve as the voice and advocate for the osteopathic profession in Maine.

  4. Sustainability: To maintain and increase our capacity to support the osteopathic profession in Maine.
